When to book Christmas lights in Atlanta — the booking timeline that actually works

Atlanta booking timelines for professional Christmas light installation. Why August matters more than you think, and what really fills up by September.

Most metro-Atlanta homeowners think about Christmas lights in October. By then, the dates they actually want are already gone — and the people who got them booked their walkthrough in August.

Here's the honest timeline professional installers in Atlanta work on.

August: walkthroughs and design

This is when serious bookings start. We do free property walkthroughs in August, lock down the design, and reserve install dates. Two things drive the August rush:

  • Premium November weekends — the Friday and Saturday slots in the two weeks before Thanksgiving are the most popular install dates in Atlanta. They book first.
  • Returning customers — if you used a professional installer last year and want the same look, your slot is reserved before new customers can compete for it.

If you're calling in August, you almost always get the date you want. If you're calling October 15, you often don't.

September: the bulk of new bookings

Most first-time customers book in September. By the end of the month, most installers in metro Atlanta have filled their pre-Thanksgiving capacity. Buckhead and Vinings premium dates often go even earlier.

If you're booking in September, you'll probably still get a great install date — just maybe not your first choice. Mid-November is usually still wide open at this point.

October: post-Thanksgiving and December

Calls in October typically end up scheduled between Thanksgiving and the second week of December. That's a perfectly fine window if you don't host before Thanksgiving — but if you do, you'll wish you'd called earlier.

October is also when commercial installs lock in. Retail tenants, HOAs, and office parks need lighting up before their first holiday event, which often means a hard early-November deadline.

November: rush only

By November, most Atlanta installers are running their crews at capacity. We can almost always still help — but the design conversation gets compressed, and your install date is likely going to be later than you'd prefer.

December: emergency only

If you're calling in December, we'll do our best, but you're in repair-and-rescue mode rather than design-and-install. We've helped December bookings — but it's not the experience you actually want.

The bottom line

If you want a specific install date, book in August. If you want flexibility, September works. If you want to be lit by Thanksgiving, don't wait past mid-October.

When you're ready, build out your project or send us a quick quote and we'll schedule a property walkthrough.
